How we research and update guides
This page explains how SetupWorthy evaluates desk and home-office products. We publish it so readers — and reviewers — can see the process behind recommendations, not only the product cards.
What we optimize for
- Daily usefulness for remote work (not one-week novelty)
- Fit for small desks, apartments, and shared living spaces
- Noise, heat, cable load, and assembly pain in real homes
- Price relative to alternatives that solve the same problem
- Availability and return friction for typical Amazon shoppers
Research checklist
For a typical buying guide we:
- Define the reader problem (e.g. lower-back pain on eight-hour days).
- List hard filters (size, ports, adjustability, budget bands).
- Shortlist products with consistent stock and clear specs.
- Compare trade-offs that show up after week one — wobble, glare, fatigue, clutter.
- Read recent buyer complaints for failure modes (returns, parts missing, noise).
- Write who should buy each pick and who should skip it.
- Verify affiliate ASINs resolve to the correct live product page before publish.
Hands-on vs research-based
Some products we recommend come from first-hand use in home-office setups; others are researched against specs, retailer data, and comparative reviews when a physical test unit is not available. When experience is limited, we say so in context and lean on measurable criteria (dimensions, adjustability, warranty patterns) rather than invented praise.
We do not invent prices or ASINs. Approximate street prices are labeled as estimates and may change.
Independence
Affiliate commissions and ads may help keep the site free. They do not decide winners. We will not rank a worse-fitting product above a better one for a higher payout. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Updates and corrections
Guides show an updated date when we refresh picks, fix dead links, or rewrite advice after product changes. If a listing 404s or a recommendation no longer matches the product, contact llh18710891669@gmail.com and we will investigate.
